Age no bar

I happened to read an article about people who broke all barriers age and society has woven in their lives. Among the many people described were an 86 year old woman who enrolled in the first year of BA. She fulfilled her deep passion for learning. It is a bold step by a woman, who lived in a conservative family where women used to take a back seat without making any protests.

Another example of boldness stated in this article was of a Savitri Thapar who became a mother for the first time at the age of 48.She enjoyed life when most women at her age were busy arranging tuitions and making plans for their kids. Savitri had kids when she was ready to commit her time.

A housewife who became a pilot at the age of 41, an 80 year old teacher who started modelling, a 29 year old who left his well paid job to photodocumenting are other examples in the write-up which reflect courage and individualism. These people have shed the social dogma and tried new things when many people at their age sit at home and engage in gossip or mundane activities.

This should motivate us to try out new things in life and get rid of our conventional thoughts. I always had the desire to learn classical music, get the hang of proffesional photography and take a course of wine making and viticulture. I felt that it was a bit late to do all this. I have decided to learn whatever excites and interests me.

We should remember that it's just one life God has given us and we should do what we love and always wanted to.After all, we have the simple right to be an individual and find happiness. Who is stopping you?
